How to root xiomi redmi Note 4, 5, 5A, 5 Plus

Xiaomi has been popular Chinese smartphone brand which is known for its low budget mobile devices. From Xiaomi Redmi note 3 to note 4, the company has always given a tough competition in the market. 

Xiaomi was rated as the 5th largest smartphone manufacturer two years back. Xiaomi does not only designs, manufactures and sells the smartphone; it makes mobile apps, laptops and other consumer electronics. Comes in the MiUi, Xiaomi has gathered an excellent reputation in the Indian smartphone market.

The smartphone giant is targeting to sell 7 million Xiaomi units at the end of the year 2017. It is noteworthy that the company has doubled its sales in India in the year 2016. They have sold millions of premium quality smartphones online. We can say that slowly but surely, Xiaomi is dominating Indian smartphone market.

The company has recently launched its new smartphone online named it as the Xiaomi Note 4 & Note 5. The device comes in 2 prominent variants. The device has 64 GB and 32 GB variants which have 4 GB and 3 GB of RAM respectively. 

Here, we have a simple a way to root your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or Note 5 with unlocking bootloader and Install TWRP Recovery.

Launched in 2016, Xiamoi Redmi Note 4 is a budget smartphone from the brand after the Redmi Note 3. If you have successfully got your device, you should be aware of Android Nougat Beta for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. 

If you are one of that tech-enthusiast who loves to play with their smartphone and enjoy customized ROMS, then rooting your new Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 should be your first choice. Root your device won’t give you the flexibility of removing Bloatware, but it improves your device performance too. 

For rooting your device, you will need

  1. A PC or a Laptop with Windows operating system. 
  2. Mi Unlock tool: Download
  3. ADB Fastboot Tool: follow the steps shown in the link.
  4. ADB USB drivers: installation shown in the link
  5. TWRP Revocery for the Note 4: Download
  6. SuperSU, latest version:

Steps to root the phone

  1. Unblocking Bootloader

How to unlock Bootloader on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 , Note 5

Step 1: Go to MiUnlock ( Sign In with your Mi ID and request Bootloader unlock with authorized reason.

Step 2: Login to your Mi Account. Make sure it is the same in your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. 

Step 3: Extract the Mi Unlock tool and launch “MiFlashUnlock.exe” file as an Administrator.

Step 4: Open the app. Give same Mi credentials of your Mi account and click on Agree.

Step 5: You must have got the message that your device is not connected. Now switch off your Redmi Note 4, press and hold volume down + power button to open the cell phone in fast boot mode. 

Step 6: Connect your smartphone to your PC/laptop with the data cable and click on “unlock” in Mi tool.

Step 7: Now let the time do its job. Once it is done, you will see something like this.

Now, to complete the process, you need to install TWRP recovery. 

Step 1: Download ADB Flashboot and extract the zip file. Shift TWRP.img file in ADB folder.

Step 2: Connect your phone by going to Settings > About Device > Tap on Build Number 7 times. Return to Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging.

Step 3: Click on the file “command.bat” file from ADB folder. Run the below command to check if everything is okay. It will return code with connected devices.

Step 4: Now for booting in fast boot, type Adb reboot bootloader
Step 5: Last step of TWRP installation. Type: Fastboot flash recovery

You can now install custom ROMs, MODs and Kernels

How to root Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 , 5 (installing SuperSU)

Step 1: First step is to transfer the file in your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4’s Internal memory. Turn off the device.

Step 2: Boot into TWRP custom recovery mode using press and hold volume up and power button.

Step 3: Click and locate SuperSU root file from the list. 

Step 4: Swipe to confirm the installation. 

Step 5: after the installation is completed, Clear Dalvik Cache and Cache. Now reboot your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
